Nicaragua is the 2nd poorest country in Central America and to add to the problem the rising tides have wiped out countless houses. Close to 80% of Nicaraguans live in inadequate homes. A Jiquillilo native, Yascara of the Woman Cooperative donated some land and asked Gerry and Monty from Monty’s Beach Lodge for help to build 10 houses for single mothers in need. In November we built the third house and I am fundraising to build house #4.
