Mark R Isfeld – Service Learning Trip

$350.00 of $7,500.00 raised

Please help us contribute to safe and adequate housing for a mother and her children and sponsor a lunch at the dump community of El Limonal.

Following a powerful experience during Spring Break 2016, Mark R Isfeld students from Courtenay BC are returning to Nicaragua in March 2018. Through this interaction in the local community students recognize the value of engaging in service rather than simply being consumers. This humbling and inspiring experience encourages young people to become global citizens with a a broader understanding of the world and be motivated to participate in solving social challenges and supporting community.

Through your support we can make a difference!

Women's Cooperative Home Building Projects

Nicaragua has one of the highest housing deficits in Central America with over 78% of the population living in inadequate homes or are homeless. Lack of adequate housing causes families to live with a constant burden of uncertainty, stress and fear. Safe and decent shelter provides an opportunity for families to break generational cycles of poverty and build better, healthier, and more stable lives.

Speroway is raising funds to support the relocation and safe and adequate housing for ten low-income families. Through your gift you will be helping to support these ten women and their children who are apart of the Women's Faith and Hope Cooperative in the community of Jiquilillo.
