Souls on Fire Tour: House Building-Cindy

$310 of $1,000 raised

Hello
My name in Cindy Penno and I am participating in the Souls on Fire Tour Nov11-22 2018 in Nicaragua

I am so excited to be heading back to build my second home. I participated in the Twenty women strong tour and it was an eye opener.

I got to experience all that Nicaragua has to offer. From ocean fishing, to saving turtle eggs but I got to immerse myself into their culture. To meet the wonderful women's co op. To make the dream come true of our home owner for house #3.

My eyes opened to a beautiful happy people that truly have nothing. That do not have the luxuries that I do.

To be able to build another house is an honour and a privilege. It awakened a fire within my soul and now I have the honour of leading this next group who saw through my eyes and those of my friends who joined me in Twenty women strong. They now have the want and passion to join me and build a better future.  This experience changed me to my core. I am very grateful I was a part of the last one and a part of this one

Women's Cooperative Home Building Projects

Nicaragua has one of the highest housing deficits in Central America with over 78% of the population living in inadequate homes or are homeless. Lack of adequate housing causes families to live with a constant burden of uncertainty, stress and fear. Safe and decent shelter provides an opportunity for families to break generational cycles of poverty and build better, healthier, and more stable lives.

Speroway is raising funds to support the relocation and safe and adequate housing for ten low-income families. Through your gift you will be helping to support these ten women and their children who are apart of the Women's Faith and Hope Cooperative in the community of Jiquilillo.
