Bike, Hike and Trike 2023-Cathy and Craig Fairley

$50 of $1,600 raised

It’s that time again — time to get moving for a cause!

Join us in walking, running, cycling, rollerblading, or getting out and moving any way you like. And raise funds for Home of Grace for your efforts.

Funds raised will be used to help Home of Grace in these ways:

·      Lunch feeding program – A nourishing hot lunch for school children living in poverty. For many, this is their only meal of the day. Full tummies mean better grades.

·      Education for temporarily housed children – When a child is being sheltered temporarily at Home of Grace, it is important that the child enrol in or return to school as part of their healing process. Help us cover the cost of uniforms, school supplies and school fees.

·      Help a family in urgent need – Occasionally, Home of Grace staff hear of a family that is beyond struggling—they are in a desperate situation. Staff can support these families with a few basic food and household items to help hold them over.

At the end of May, Craig and I moved up to Muskoka.  So, for Hike, Bike and Trike this October, we are switching our hiking goals from the Bruce Trail to the beautiful nearby Provincial Parks.  We will start with Arrowhead Provincial Park - just 15 minutes from our home.  The 'All Trails’ website tells us there are 8 trails - so our goal will be to hike all 8 - one for each of the Home of Grace staff members.  Our financial goal for this year’s Hike, Bike and Trike is $1600 - $200 for each of the eight trails - meaning $200 to go towards each of the eight staff salaries. We recognize what a huge difference having a stable job has for each staff member's own families.  But, in addition, the Home of Grace staff are so key to the project’s success.  These men and women see their work as much more than just a job - they are dedicated to the children and to the goals of the home.  We cannot yet pay them well, but it is our goal that each year we can increase their salaries - even by just a bit - to show them how much we value their work. Can you help Craig and I reach our $1600 goal?  We’d appreciate your support!!
