We're Going to Get Moving for Home of Grace October 3 to 12!
Like Canada, Kenya closed down schools and businesses on March 13. The closing of schools has meant that not only are the children missing out on their education, but they are missing out on daily food as well. Before COVID-19, Home of Grace was providing lunch to 80 local students each day. For many of them, it was their only meal of the day. With the lockdown, jobs have disappeared, markets have closed and food has become scarce and expensive. Families are struggling even more than ever. There is no social safety net in Kenya — no unemployment insurance, no food banks.
Home of Grace has begun to distribute emergency food hampers to the most desperate of these families through its Community Emergency Fund. But the money needed to meet the demand isn't there. This event will be focused on funding the Community Emergency Fund, in order to support neighbourhood families during the pandemic.
We have set a goal of raising $6,500 - Enough to feed 100 families for a month. Please join us in stopping hunger in the face of poverty. Sponsor a participant for the sake of the families and children in that part of the world.
Between October 3 to 12 participants will get out and bike, hike, run or stroll. They can do it all at once or spread it out over the whole time period, solo, as a family or a team!
Please join us in a special fundraiser to raise funds to support Home of Grace and its neighbours.

How many families can you support? Our goal is to raise $6,500 — enough to feed 100 families for a month.
It is fitting that this event is taking place around Thanksgiving. It is a time when we are able to give thanks for all that we have – family, friends, food on the table and a roof over our heads, even if our own circumstances are extra difficult this year. Please sponsor a participant, however, you can. Even a few dollars can make a difference, but we urge you to be generous.
