Summer 2023 Dominican Volunteer Trip
Donate NowIn the border region between Haiti and the Dominican Republic, a stark contrast unfolds, highlighting the plight of Haitians. On the one side, the Dominican Republic shines with its bustling cities, thriving tourism, and relative economic stability, (although there is still a lot of people living in poverty in the Dominican). Yet, just across the border, impoverished Haitians struggle to overcome immense challenges, lack of access to education, healthcare, and basic infrastructure amplifies their hardship. The extreme gang violence over the past few years has many Haitians fleeing to the Dominican.
Many Haitians have sought better opportunities by crossing into the Dominican Republic. However, their undocumented status and language barriers leads to discrimination, exploitation, and limited employment prospects. Poverty becomes a constant companion as they face inadequate housing, food scarcity, and limited social services.
Please join us on a journey of compassion and solidarity with Canadian charity, Speroway, and their Dominican partners, as we embark on a volunteer trip aimed at helping Haitians in the Dominican Republic.
On this mission trip, with your generous support, we plan to construct a much-needed community kitchen for a local school, enabling the provision of nutritious meals for children who currently go hungry. Additionally, we aim to install cement flooring in houses, ensuring families have a safe and hygienic living environment. Lastly, our team will work to construct a community center bathroom, enhancing access to proper sanitation facilities in this much needed community centre for essential community programs.

Our Goal
To make this vision a reality, we need to raise $20,000. These funds will cover the materials, equipment, and resources required for these construction projects. Every contribution, big or small, will have a direct impact on the lives of those we serve, bringing hope and opportunity to those who need it most.
Join us on this journey of compassion, donate today to help us reach our goal of $20,000 and let's contribute to making a lasting difference in the lives of Haitian children and families living in the Dominican.
