Dear Friends,

Many of us have no idea what it’s like to be hungry. To worry about where your next meal will come from or whether you will be able to give your children the food and nutrients they need to grow and develop properly.

During our medical and dental mission to Haiti last year, we also took the opportunity to volunteer at one of Speroway’s partner schools in a tent community called Jerusalem. Serving nutritious meals to hungry children is one of the most humbling experiences I’ve had.

This year, I would like to reach out to my family, friends, colleagues, or anyone who wants to support this initiative in hopes of raising $6,000 together for feeding programs at Speroway. I will personally match every dollar donated, doubling the impact of your donation.

In the aftermath of the devastating earthquake in 2010, Jerusalem emerged as a temporary tent community for those left homeless. Today, over 100,000 internally displaced people reside in Jerusalem.  The community lacks essentials like food, clean water, medical care, and basic infrastructure.

Feeding Programs

Speroway focuses on school feeding to provide children and families with the essential nutrients they need. School feeding programs improve health and accessible education, which is instrumental in breaking generational cycles of poverty.

School feeding programs not only supply educational and health benefits, but contribute to gender equality, food security and poverty alleviation—all in a single intervention.
