Speroway

Hunger Doesn’t Take a Holiday

In the countries where Speroway works, the children are out of school for the summer. However, very few of the children, if any, get to go anywhere, unlike children here in Canada. The only real change for them is maybe more house chores or some work in the fields. Unfortunately, the biggest change for most of these children is they lose out on the one guaranteed meal they get from the school food program.

We are asking for you to be generous with helping us supply food for the children in the communities we work in. This food is distributed through community programs by our partners and staff.

We have also been able to secure a 10x match from food suppliers that allows us to multiple your gift to feed so many more children.

$35 will provide $350 worth of food

$60 will provide $600 worth of food

$200 will provide $2000 worth of food

Hezaleah's Story

This is Hezaleah and her two children, her son Miko and her little girl Connex. Hezaleah’s husband has been gone for over a year, he went to find work and they have not heard from him. It is not uncommon in some of these remote rural communities for people to travel great distances and be gone for a long season before coming back with some money and food.

Meanwhile Hezaleah does a few chores for neighbours and farms a small garden to support her children. She also is one of the community volunteers with the food program. She enjoys helping the community and it also guarantees she can receive some food for Miko and Connex.

I want to wish you and your family all the best during the summer months but would also ask if you would help with families that don’t have the same privileges we have here in Canada.
