Souls on Fire Tour: Kelly Tetz

$0 of $1,000 raised

My name is Kelly Tetz and I am participating in the Souls on Fire Tour in Nicaragua in November 2018.

I have always wanted to be involved in a project like this one. To have a positive impact on the lives of others, but didn't know how to get involved. I heard about a group who went last year, from a friend who went and thought this would be a great way to make memories. I want to be able to experience the culture of Nicaragua and spend time with the families involved in this project. I want to be able to experience the happiness of people who have such humble roots. I look forward to experiences that I haven't had before.

Your generous donation will be used to help me reach my goal of $1,000, and my team's overall goal of $20,000, which will pay materials and contractors to build a safe place for our family to raise their children. You will receive a tax receipt for any amount, and be able to follow our progress throughout the build.

Thank you for being a part of this incredible experience.

Women's Cooperative Home Building Projects

Nicaragua has one of the highest housing deficits in Central America with over 78% of the population living in inadequate homes or are homeless. Lack of adequate housing causes families to live with a constant burden of uncertainty, stress and fear. Safe and decent shelter provides an opportunity for families to break generational cycles of poverty and build better, healthier, and more stable lives.

Speroway is raising funds to support the relocation and safe and adequate housing for ten low-income families. Through your gift you will be helping to support these ten women and their children who are apart of the Women's Faith and Hope Cooperative in the community of Jiquilillo.

Nicaragua Jiquilillo Projects

Speroway works in the rural Nicaraguan communities of Jiquilillo, Los Zorros, Padre Ramos and the community of El Limonal near Chinandega. Activities and initiatives are pursued in collaboration with these communities, and in partnership with other participating organizations with a shared vision of alleviating poverty through improved education, accessible healthcare, and enhanced self-employment opportunities.
