Speroway responds to natural disasters, conflicts, and emergencies—providing life-saving emergency relief and long term response.
Haiti Hurricane Matthew
More than half a year after Hurricane Matthew, Haiti is suffering from one of the worst hunger crises in its history. The hurricane that devastated Haiti in October wiped out 80% of crops, drowned most livestock, and had destroyed critical infrastructure. Our work with our local partners has continued. We’re providing food and shelter to families in some of the most hard-struck areas and continue to fight childhood hunger and malnutrition through school feeding programs and supporting home building projects repairing roofs and broken infrastructure from the hurricane.
Speroway continues to distribute food, tents, temporary shelter, warm clothes, and essential supplies to vulnerable families in need.
Africa Famine Relief
Speroway provided food, water, and other aid in Kenya during the Horn of Africa Food Crisis and in Malawi during the Southeast Africa floods. Speroway continues to work in both countries, alongside schools, community-based centres, churches, and orphanages to provide food and nutrition, healthcare, and education.
Although the emergency phase of our work in Haiti from the earthquake is over, Speroway is committed to helping rebuild the country. We provide food and nutrition, medical support, and education opportunities for children and young adults.
