Bringing Opportunity to Students in Malawi

Aim Light Ministries, a partner of Speroway, is creating new opportunities for students in Malawi through the second phase of Aim-Light High School — a Christian-rooted school where faith and education grow together. In a region where options are extremely limited, this school represents one of the only opportunities for students to continue their education in a Christ-centered environment.

In the rural region of Tsangano, Malawi, thousands of students complete elementary school each year, but very few have the chance to continue.

While Malawi offers free primary education, secondary school is not accessible to most families. In this area alone, 18 elementary schools feed into just one government high school. The result is heartbreaking. Capable, motivated students are left without a path forward.

That’s why Aim-Light High School (A-LHS) was launched in 2020.

What began as a vision has already grown rapidly, reaching 140 students by 2023, each one given a chance to continue their education and pursue a brighter future.

More than Education

Aim-Light High School serves both boys and girls, creating a safe and encouraging environment where students are equipped not just academically, but personally and spiritually.

Students are encouraged to:

  • Live with Passion
  • Act with Integrity
  • Strive for Excellence

All within a foundation rooted in the Christian faith.

A Strong Foundation

With the generous support of donors in Canada, Phase 1 of the school was completed in 2022.

This included:

  • Purchase of 7.5 acres of land
  • Construction of two classroom blocks
  • Installation of a well, septic system, and solar power

This critical first phase laid the groundwork for a school designed to one day serve up to 300 students.

The Next Step: Be Part of the Story

Now, in 2026, the next phase of Aim-Light High School is underway, and you are invited to be part of it.

Plans are in place to build a student hostel, making it possible for more students, especially those from distant villages, to attend.

Alongside this, apartment-style housing for teachers will help attract and retain the qualified staff needed to sustain and grow the school.

These additions will do more than expand capacity. They will strengthen the school’s long-term sustainability and deepen its impact for years to come.

The need is urgent, but so is the opportunity.

With your support, Aim-Light High School can continue to grow and provide life-changing education to hundreds of students each year, year after year.

You can help open the door to education, purpose, and hope for young people in Malawi.
