Nepal Emergency
On August 26, a catastrophic collapse of ice and rock high in the Himalayas sent a massive flow of debris, mud and water rushing through communities below. In a matter of minutes, homes were swept away. Roads and bridges were destroyed. Families lost nearly everything. The scale of this disaster is still unfolding.
More than 10,000 households are in urgent need of assistance, and thousands of children have been left without safe access to essential services.
Speroway is responding.
Through our trusted partner in Nepal, help is already reaching affected communities.
Our partner is on the ground, working alongside local communities and providing practical support to families affected by the disaster.
Because of their established relationships and deep roots within these communities, they are able to respond quickly where the need is greatest.
Nepal is not new to us.
Following the devastating earthquake in 2015, Speroway responded with emergency assistance. We have also supported vulnerable children in Nepal, including through an orphanage, and worked through trusted local relationships to help children and families in need.
Those relationships matter tremendously in an emergency. They connect us with people who know the communities, understand the needs and can help get assistance to families who desperately need it.
