Nepal Emergency
On August 26, a catastrophic collapse of ice and rock high in the Himalayas sent a massive flow of debris, mud and water rushing through communities below. In a matter of minutes, homes were swept away. Roads and bridges were destroyed. Families lost nearly everything. The scale of this disaster is still unfolding.
More than 40,000 households are in urgent need of assistance, and children have been left without safe access to essential services.
Speroway is responding. Nepal is not new to us.
Following the devastating earthquake in 2015, Speroway responded with emergency assistance. We have also supported vulnerable children in Nepal, including through an orphanage, and work through trusted local relationships to help children and families in need.
Those relationships matter tremendously in an emergency.
Through our partnerships, we are on the ground, working alongside local communities, providing support to families affected by the disaster. Because of these established relationships and deep roots within these communities, they are able to respond quickly where the need is greatest.
